Who runs this site

FreeAIPDF (www.freeaipdf.com) is run by Durgesh Vijay in India. “We” and “us” on this page mean him. You can reach him at durgeshghiya@gmail.com or through the contact page.

Your documents

Every tool on this website does its work with JavaScript running on your own machine. The file you pick is read into memory by the page, processed there, and handed back to you as a download. There is no upload step, so there is nothing for us to store, log, or lose.

That includes OCR: the text recognition engine and its English model are downloaded from this site and run on your device, so your scans are not sent anywhere either.

What is stored in your browser

The site keeps two settings in your browser's local storage: whether you prefer the light or dark theme, and, if you use Scan to PDF, whether automatic capture is on. Neither contains anything from your documents. Your browser also caches the site's code, as it would for any website, and after the first OCR run it keeps the English recognition model (about 4 MB) so the next run does not download it again. Google's ad code sets cookies of its own, described below.

Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)

This website uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this website or to other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Some ads may come from other ad companies that Google works with, which can set cookies of their own. Google explains what it does with this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings. Other companies' cookies for personalised ads can be turned off at www.aboutads.info, or, in the EU, at www.youronlinechoices.eu.

The ad code does not receive your documents: our tools never put a file into a network request, and the site's Content Security Policy limits the page to this site and Google's ad servers. The ad code runs on the same page, so, as on any site with ads, it can technically see what the page displays, such as a file name or the text shown in a preview. If that matters for a document, use a content blocker; every tool keeps working.

Server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server, Hostinger's servers and its content delivery network record each request: the IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the browser (user agent) and the referring page. Hostinger keeps these logs for a limited period under its own policies, and we use them only to keep the site secure and to fix problems.

If you email us

If you write to durgeshghiya@gmail.com, we receive your email address and your message and use them only to reply. The mail is kept in Google's Gmail service.

What we do not do

There are no accounts and no analytics service, nothing tracks what your documents contain, and we do not sell data.

Tools that would need a server

Office conversion, repair and translation would need a server and are not offered on this website. If they are ever added, their pages will say before you run them that the file is uploaded, and files will be deleted when the conversion finishes.

Unlocking PDFs

The Unlock tool removes a password you already have. Only use it on documents you own or are authorised to open. It cannot guess or break an unknown password.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU or UK GDPR, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. We hold none beyond emails you send; server logs are held by Hostinger and ad data by Google, whose controls are linked above. Write to durgeshghiya@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days. In the EEA or the UK you may also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13.

The Android and iOS apps

The FreeAIPDF apps run the same tools on your phone or tablet, and handle your files the same way: they are processed on the device and never uploaded. The apps contain no advertising, no analytics and no tracking code, including none of the third-party scripts described above, and they collect no personal data. They use the camera only while Scan to PDF's scanner is open or when you choose to take a photo, and the pictures stay on the device. A finished file leaves the app only when you choose where to send it in the share sheet.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes.
