Every tool marked as browser-based does its work with JavaScript running on your own machine. The file you pick is read into memory by the page, processed there, and handed back to you as a download. There is no upload step, so there is nothing for us to store, log, or lose.

FreeAIPDF sets one item in local storage, to remember whether you prefer the light or dark theme.

There is one third-party script on the site: an affiliate tracker from impact.com. It records that a page was viewed and adds a referral code to links pointing at products we recommend, which is how the site is paid for. It can see the page you are on, in the same way any web analytics does. It cannot see your documents: your files are opened and processed by code running in your browser and are never read into any network request, so there is nothing for it, or anyone else, to collect. If you would rather block it, any content blocker will stop it and every tool on this site will carry on working normally.

Tools that will need a server

Office conversion, OCR, repair and translation cannot run in a browser. Those tools are marked "Soon" and will run on hardware we operate ourselves. When they ship, the tool page will say plainly that the file is being sent to our converter, and files will be deleted as soon as the conversion finishes.

Unlocking PDFs

The Unlock tool removes a password you already have. Only use it on documents you own or are authorised to open. It cannot guess or break an unknown password.
